Shaker-style Contemporary Kitchen

This shaker-style contemporary kitchen embodies both elegance and practicality. As part of an extensive redevelopment of a 220-year-old cottage, this traditional design combined with modern functionality sits within a double-aspect, glazed modern extension. With sliding doors opening directly to an outdoor pool area, the kitchen seamlessly flows between the surrounding internal spaces and the beautiful landscaped gardens.

Location: Castle Combe

Functionality

The dual-purpose kitchen enhances daily living without compromising utility. Thin-framed shaker-style doors streamline the space while housing an integrated fridge-freezer and two dishwashers. A similarly fronted pantry conceals small appliances while providing functional storage. The waterfall island, serving as both worktop and seating area, creates an impactful centrepiece without drawing too much attention from the surrounding redevelopment.

Thoughtful Details

The use of natural materials and tones create a harmonious flow. Specially treated oak doors have been lightened to complement the flooring and, alongside wicker detailing, pay homage to the style of the original cottage. In contrast, the opulent marble used on the splashback and waterfall island echoes the redevelopment’s aesthetic without distracting from it. Brass accents on the cabinet hardware, range and water tap add a sophisticated finishing touch, enhancing both the functionality and visual appeal of the kitchen.

Materials

The 30mm Arabescato Corchia Extra marble, meticulously hand-selected in Italy for its uniqueness and exceptional quality, serves as the centrepiece of the kitchen. Superior functionality and design is also provided by the Ilve Majestic range, Fisher & Paykel appliances, and Quooker tap. Complemented by Buster & Punch brass pull bar handles, these thoughtfully chosen materials ensure the kitchen is both stunning and built to last.
