Cleaveland walk kitchen project

Cleveland Walk

A substantial Bath residence of considerable architectural pedigree demanded a kitchen that needed nothing to prove. The intention was singular. To be as natural, timeless, and unassuming as possible. In a house of considerable ambition, restraint was the boldest choice.

Location: Bath

Scope: Kitchen design & build

Type: In-frame shaker kitchen

Thoughtful Details

Brought in to deliver the kitchen within a wider interior design project, the brief was to complement rather than compete. So in a light-filled side extension overlooking the city, this in-frame shaker kitchen was designed to recede with subtle sophistication, framing rather than competing with the view.

Hand-stained oak interiors fronted in warm mineral white keep cabinets understated, while their large beading detail and curved end posts give them a sense of belonging rather than function. A purpose-built canopy, designed to read as a chimney breast, houses the extractor fan and gives the room an anchor without competing for attention.

The Dekton worktop and splashback continue in the same spirit. The dark, textured surface drawn from the geology of slate ground the warmth of the oak and antique brass hardware with something older and quieter. An enduring design with no gimmicks, crafted with intent and tethered by nature.
