Weston House

Transcendent Classic Kitchen

A classic kitchen that transcends the role of mere cooking space, this room is the heart of family gatherings and social events. Designed for a bustling household, it seamlessly blends functionality with style, creating an ideal environment in which to live, eat and entertain.

Location: Bath

Functionality

Every element of the kitchen is thoughtfully proportioned to evoke a sense of grandeur without encroaching on the space. The layout ensures ample room for movement and functionality, making it easy to host large groups without feeling cramped. Large glass sliding doors connect the kitchen to the garden, so the space enhances the indoor-outdoor living experience, providing a bright, airy environment ideal for both daily family life and entertaining guests. Integrated appliances are easily accessible yet concealed behind bespoke cabinetry designed as elegant furniture rather than conventional cupboards.

Thoughtful Details

Inspired by the client’s love for the material, we made natural Blue Roma quartzite the focal point of the design. The cloudy blue slab, with its rich tonal variations, is used seamlessly on both the island and worktop. As a backsplash, the stone’s meandering veins of deep blue, brown, and gold are accentuated by a large floating shelf, adding sophistication while maintaining an open feel. Large glazed cabinetry flanks the sink and runs along both sides of the room, offering practical storage and space for ceramics and decorative objects. These practical units create storage while allowing space for ceramics and decorative objects. A natural travertine table was selected for its timeless appeal and durability, further enhancing the design

Materials

Cabinetry painted in Loft White by Little Greene Paint Company creates a striking contrast with the island, finished in Farrow & Ball’s Railings. This deep, sophisticated blue-black not only adds a dramatic touch but also mirrors the timeless elegance of the Blue Roma quartzite. To accentuate the cabinetry, we chose the matt brass Sparkbrook handles from Armac Martin, which add an additional layer of refinement. The travertine table, along with chairs and stools from Gubi, completes the design, enhancing the overall aesthetic and ensuring a cohesive, stylish kitchen.
